Support

This page covers the most common support questions for CommentLedger.

Common questions

I installed the app, but I do not see any data

Possible reasons:

  • the initial background import is still running
  • your Jira site has a large history to process
  • your account does not have access to the relevant data
  • you are looking at an issue with no captured comment activity yet

I can open Jira issues, but not CommentLedger

This is usually a permissions issue.

CommentLedger access depends on both:

  • Jira access
  • CommentLedger-specific access

Contact your Jira admin to confirm that your account should be allowed to use the app.

I do not see deleted or restricted comments

Some deleted or restricted comment history may not be visible to every user. Visibility depends on the permissions and restrictions that apply to that comment history.

The app appears installed, but I cannot find it

Try the following:

  • refresh Jira
  • check the issue view (sidebar and menu) and app navigation again
  • confirm the installation was done on the correct Jira Cloud site
  • ask a Jira admin whether your account has access

Before contacting support

Please gather the following if possible:

  • your Jira Cloud site URL
  • the issue key involved, if relevant
  • what you expected to see
  • what you actually saw
  • screenshots, if helpful
  • whether the problem affects one issue, many issues, or all users

Who should contact support

If you are an end user, your Jira admin may be the fastest first stop for:

  • permission problems
  • install visibility questions
  • rollout questions

If the Jira admin cannot resolve it, contact CommentLedger support through the contact links on the Atlassian Marketplace listing.

Contacting support

Use the support or contact links on the Atlassian Marketplace listing for CommentLedger.

When writing in, include:

  • your Jira site
  • the approximate time of the issue
  • issue keys involved
  • a short description of the problem

That will make troubleshooting much faster.
